It's not good now but we must remain hopeful.
Every year, people tune in to the President's State of The Union Address. I know this year, people will be very happy to hear an address coming from Joe Biden and not Donald Trump. However, the State of The Union will illustrate a false depiction of our nation. Obviously, it will include hope of rebounding from the pandemic and Trump's presidency, but what it won't include is our true state. I'm going to say what no one else would. We're in such a trash state.
I want to start by recapping all the topics I've covered and connect it to trash. No one will ever create something that is trash. What is trash is your reception. Everything about 2020 was trash. The election was trash. The coronavirus, in all aspects, was trash. The hope you think that is coming is trash. Politics is trash. As I said, these topics aren't trash, my response to them, is that, well, it is trash. You can think the election was great because Joe Biden won and you can think that there is help coming in 2021. But I'm here to tell you, our nation is still in a trash.
To the people who believe that Joe Biden will make a difference in his first four years of presidency, you are misinformed. Now, I am making the assumption that you believe only the President does everything, and if that's you. You're wrong. There are branches of government and currently, as I am writing this, a run-off election in January will determine the Senate Majority. Without a Democratic Senate, expect little change to happen. It would have been the same with Trump as well. The hope that the president will completely overhaul the current way of life is not realistic. Let's not forget Joe Biden is very forgetful and old. Yet, we all put our faith into him. Remember, we SETTLED for Biden, we didn't like him. So let's not forget the fact that politics were trying to convince us that these men should lead this country. A sign that that politics is trash.
The media played such a massive role in 2020 for politics. To put it nicely, the media is trash. I can also go on about how toxic it is but it'll probably manifest itself some way in this paragraph. I've seen misleading headlines, I've seen horrible things written, and I've seen the media just being biased. You probably liked what you saw but I didn't. It's mainly because I see it from all sides. The media was so one sided. Now, I hate fake news just as much as anyone, so I don't want to sound or be like fake news, but it's clear the media made our time in the pandemic much worse than it was. When media gets circulated around, there is some truth to it, but it's not the whole truth. *Fact Checkers enter.* Republicans were clearly attacked more than Democrats were for things that if Democrats did, people wouldn't care about. For example, Tucker Carlson, a Fox News commentator, pronounced Kamala wrong and people said he was disrespecting Kamala Harris for being a minority. They called him racist. Yet Joe Biden, who pronounced it the same exact way as Tucker Carlson did, no one cared. I believe that would also mean Joe Biden is racist as well. The media also kept proclaiming landslide victory for Trump and yet, the election was closer than it seemed. The media is a gatekeeper, they share things that fit their narrative and buried the things people should also hear. This is true especially with Black Lives Matter, the police, Joe Biden's blunders, and tweets by democrats that implied violence. For instance, Governor Cuomo stated that Trump would need an army to protect him if he walked the streets of New York. I don't see how that's any different from saying when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Also, after the election, people from the left began sharing information about Kamala Harris indirectly supporting conflict in the Middle East. To me, that's trash. Let all the information come out and let's listen to everything. It isn't until something is achieved when the bad comes out. That's just what I see. Overall, the media blows up what they want to hear. It's like Facebook is Republican and Twitter is Democratic.
Also, Black Lives Matter divided people whether you like it or not. Their agenda doesn't match what their name is. They are too political for something that need to be DONE.
Now, an update on both political parties.
An update on Republicans: They are the more united party in the United States. But they sadly, have to rally against a man with no integrity or character. They're a party at a disadvantage here because they're all painted as bad guys which is wrong. No one wants to hear them because they're all painted as white supremacists or careless, but truth be told, they're not all like Donald Trump. If only you could ask John McCain. Everyone refuses to debate them and people always argue with them because they don't agree with Democrats. No one bothers to understand them. Luckily, Donald Trump may not be the face of their party in 2024.
An update on Democrats: They are divided. There are socialists and moderate democrats that conflict with each other. But kudos to them for rallying behind Joe Biden. Obviously, they're thinking of a better future... for their party. They're also a mess, they had a whole bunch of young politicians in the primaries but ended up with Joe Biden. Their party is also power hungry, just ask Nancy Pelosi. They stand for a lot, but it'll all be a facade because of constant clashing.
Also, another reminder that the political system is trash, but that's not the basis of my project.
The election shouldn't have been this close. This signals the lack of confidence in both Joe Biden and Donald Trump. This shows that minorities are still not being treated right by either party, racism still exists, and that people didn't really feel any candidate made a bigger difference.
Obviously, there are a lot of problems in this society and these politicians telling you that change is coming, is all a lie. They tried to tell you this is the most important election of our lives yet they make us vote for Kanye, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden. This election is a step forward in cleaning us up but we are ultimately still trash.
Now, a final message to our nation:
As a nation, we have to realize that, the people in office now, will not help us. We must help ourselves and teach the future generation what is right and what is wrong. Everything about 2020 was misleading but all we can do is learn. Everything about right or wrong became left or right. AND THAT IS NOT THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. We shouldn't have to pick sides. Both parties stand for different things and some of those things are just a matter of governance and personal belief. It's not like one party stands for all horrible things and one is the goodie two shoes. Politics make it seem like only one side is acceptable. Recall, that politics require debate, and right now there is no debating. Just arguing. Don't expect change until we can all come to an agreement or compromise. Our best interests are not being met as a nation.
Ultimately, the change starts with us, not those corrupt politicians who we just voted for. They're not all corrupt but they're all old-school, we need to lead the way. To create change, we need to start change not them, because they won't. It's wrong to say they won't do anything but they won't do what we think. It'll be a small help. We need to fix ourselves because like I said, they are good people and there are bad people out there. Like for God Sakes, some people want to start a Civil War because Joe Biden won. With people like that out there, don't expect much change from a President. We need to correct ourselves, friends, and others, and set a moral standard for how we want the Nation to like. We are the change, not the person we just voted in and not the people in office. We must use our voice to prevent something like 2020 politics from happening again. Change won't be immediate but we can get there over time.
Lastly, if you see 2020 as a win, I do not because even after this win, it seems like nothing has truly felt different. They're making it seem like it but we are still right where we are. And I hope I helped you realize that. I am not trying to play politics, I'm just trying to give you the truth.
