One of the Big Picture power assessments for graduation is to write a full-length research paper, preferably relating to your Service Thesis Project. One of my passions is LGBTQ education and activism. I do a lot of work with local organizations and withing my school to pursue acceptance, awareness, and inclusivity in my community. I founded the Gender and Sexuality Alliance Club at South Burlington High School, and I'm also a peer educator, panelist, Youth Leadership Council Member, and Youth Representative Board Member at Outright Vermont, a non-profit organization that supports LGBTQ youth ages 13-22. Because I was already so involved with my community and participating in service work, the subject "Making Social Change Through LGBTQ Education" became my Service Thesis Project, which you can learn more about under the Big Picture Curriculum tab. Because this topic is really important to me, I thought a research paper on this subject would be a perfect support for my STP. You can read the twenty-three page research paper below.
