The Community Connections Reciprocal Referral Network is a space for SBCAE members and community partners to build relationships, learn about each other's programs and services, and collaborate. The group's goals are to facilitate referrals between partner agencies, explore options for integrated case management and data sharing; and work together on shared goals and projects.
Community Resources are both critical and necessary to address the barriers adult learners experience and prevents many from being successful throughout their educational journey. Support services such as childcare, transportation, (mental) health care, etc. increase resilience and fosters equitable access.
SBCAE partners with local, community-based organizations in a reciprocal referral network (Community Connections) which seeks services that are available throughout the San Jose area to holistically address the needs and barriers of adult learners.
Transition Specialists have a crucial role in facilitating those referrals to outside resources for students they work with. They educate their colleagues about available resources in the community and participate in planning/hosting resource fairs on adult school or community college campuses.
