Part of the Learning Technology Grant has the three districts exploring different ways of incorporating technology and culturally responsive education into coursework. To reach this goal, the Sayville School District has begun documenting their curriculum by creating curriculum maps. Two tools are being used: NY Learns and Google Drive.
NYLearns is a dynamic, online curriculum management and standards-based system. Created specifically for the New York State scholastic community by a team of master teachers and PhDs in the field of education, NYLearns offers educators tools and resources that are online making them easily accessible and searchable. Google Drive is cloud-based (online) storage which allows teachers to collaborate and share their work.
To the right you will find a list of Earth Science labs that can be used with a creative commons license.
Below are curriculum maps for Math courses for grade 7, grade 8, and one grade 7/8 compacted course.
