Narumi Class

Kinder1

Kindergarten 1 focuses on learning Japanese in a fun way, beginning with familiarization with Japanese language school for younger kindergarten students. With my experience as a Montessori teacher, I have created activities that allow children to practice Japanese conversation through hands-on experiences. Children will learn about Japanese culture and events through seasonal crafts and monthly themes. To continue learning the basics of Japanese in a fun way, we will also focus on introducing the 50 hiragana syllabaries and vocabulary commonly used in everyday life.

Soma Class

Kinder 2

This class is catered to teach kindergarten students. Students will be introduced to songs, picture books, and other mediums every week, while Japanese culture and events will be introduced throughout the year. We aim to familiarize students with Japanese conversation and hiragana through Art, Music, and PE lessons as well.

Concepcion Sensei

Kinder 1 & 2

With her experience as a Preschool Teacher, Charmaine-Sensei will be supporting Kinder 1 & 2 classrooms. She will provide additional fun activities and arts and crafts ideas both classes can enjoy.

Hayakawa Class

Elementary 1

Students will continue to expand their vocabulary while reviewing hiragana. Katakana will be introduced using workbooks, and learn the differences between the types of written formats.  Students will also be reading and writing short stories to learn how sentences are structured. Kanji practice will also begin, and Kanji Gakushu notebooks will be used to learn the correct stroke order and meanings of 1st grade kanji (80 characters). The 2nd grade students will review hiragana, katakana, and 1st grade kanji while slowly working on 2nd grade kanji and the language and grammar that 2nd grade Japanese students learn.  Crafts will be incorporated in class so that students will develop an interest in Japanese culture and learn about Japanese seasonal holidays.

Stephens Class

Elementary 2

The goal of this class is to review the expressions learned up to this point, to build vocabulary, and to use that vocabulary naturally in conversation. Reading will be practiced in large groups, small groups, or individually, and students will work on spontaneous speech and practice. Writing will be practiced at a speed appropriate to the individual, with the goal of establishing a solid foundation. We will use illustrations and quizzes to help students learn Japanese sentences in an easy-to-understand manner.

Lee Class

Elementary

Students will review hiragana and katakana, and learn vocabulary used in daily life and kanji at the beginner level as well as they will practice reading aloud and learn reading comprehension through reading materials. Conversation practice will be adapted to each student's level, and students will be guided to speak Japanese spontaneously without strain. In writing, students will study with the goal of developing the ability to write correct sentences and establishing basic written expression.

Okada Class

Elementary 4 & Middle School 1

This class aims to focus on ① Conversation (acquisition of vocabulary and phrases that will allow students to express their thoughts in appropriate Japanese expressions including formal tenses), ② Kanji (differentiated based on student level), ③ Read aloud of varied texts (including attainment of grammar and the use of kanji in sentences), and ④ Japanese culture and events (learning about the background, history, and meaning). Visco Class

Middle School 2 & High School 1

& Vice Principal

The purpose of the class is to cultivate communication skills to accurately understand and convey information and ideas. Class activities provide many opportunities to express in Japanese based on what they have heard and read. In order to maximize students' contact time with the language, classes are mostly conducted in Japanese and students are given ample opportunities to communicate in Japanese. English is occasionally used according to the students' level of understanding.

Yano Class
