JLPT（日本語能力試験）は、年に一度行われる国家試験です。これは、学生の日本語の知識と、日本で働く可能性に備えた準備状況を測定します。参加者は、N5（初級）からN1（上級日本語）までの難易度を選択することができます。
今年、私たちJISの生徒の一人が試験に合格しました。Sinder Satomiさんは、JISから過去100年で初めてN1レベル（JLPTの最高レベル）に合格した生徒です！ 彼女の成果をとても誇りに思います。 以下に彼女へのインタビューを掲載しました。
The JLPT (Japanese Language Placement Test) is a national exam that takes place once a year. It measures a student's knowledge in the Japanese language and readiness to work in Japan. Participants may choose the level of difficulty, beginning from N5 (beginner) to N1 (advanced Japanese).
This year, one of our very own JIS students passed the exam. Satomi Sinder is the first student from JIS in 100 years to have passed the N1 level, the highest level of the JLPT! We are very proud of her achievement!
We have included an interview with her below.
Q: さとみさん、N1 合格おめでとうございます。今どんな気持ちですか。
A: 初めての受験で、試しにと思っていたので、とても驚いています。試験に合格するとは思っていなかったのですが、予想よりは簡単でした。
Q: 完成感などありますか。
A: はい、ものすごくいい成績ではありませんでしたが、合格点数内だったので、うれしかったです。
Q: 試験はどのように採点されましたか？
A: 六角形のようなチャートに項目ごとの成績が載っています。そこには、得意だった分野と苦手だった分野を示す小さなカラーグリッドがあります。
Q: JLPTはいつから受け始めましたか?
A: 私は去年から受験し始めました。最初にN3を受けましたが、とても簡単だと感じました。Visco先生のクラスレベルなら、N3を受けて問題なく合格できます。 N4はとばしました。なぜなら、母が「おそらくもうこのレベルは超えている」と言ったからです。 今年になって試しにN1を受けました。
Q: 日本語を勉強した理由は何ですか？
A: 小さい頃、母が夏休みに日本に行かせて、そこで学校に通いました。夏休みはありませんでしたが、楽しかったです。 友達や家族とコミュニケーションを取るためには、日本語を使う必要がありました。また、日本語が分かると、日本での生活が楽になります。
Q: 特別にどんなべんきょうをしましたか。参考書をつかいましたか。
A: 私はN1参考書から毎日5ページ勉強しました。それはテストの全ての範囲をカバーしており、リスニング部分のためのCDが付属しています。
Q: N1を受験する生徒にどんなアドバイスをしますか？
A: 一日に2ページコツコツ勉強していくことです。楽しいと思えば、より簡単に身につけることができます。
Q: Congratulations on passing the N1! How are you feeling right now?
A: I feel very surprised because I was there to try it out first. I didn’t expect to pass the exam but it ended up being much easier than I anticipated.
Q: When you passed the exam, did you feel the sense of accomplishment?
A: Yes, I didn’t do the best of the best but it was within the passing grade, so I was glad.
Q: How was the exam graded?
A: They gave you a chart, like a hexagon, where it shows what grades you got. It has a little color grid inside showing what you were strong in and what you were weak in.
Q: When did you start taking the JLPT?
A: I started taking it last year. I took the N3, which felt was very easy. At Visco sensei’s class level, you can take the N3 and pass with no problems. I skipped the N4 because my mom told me, “you’ve probably already passed this level”. I took the N1 this year just to try it out.
Q: What made you study Japanese?
A: When I was little, my mom made me go to Japan over the summer and go to school there. I didn’t have a summer break but it was fun.
To communicate with my friends and family, I needed to use Japanese. Also, it is generally easier to get around in Japan if you know Japanese.
Q: How did you study for the exam?
A: I did 5 pages a day from an N1 reference book. It covers all the areas and comes with a CD for the listening part.
Q: What advice would you give to the students taking the N1?
A: If you’re studying, you can do two pages a day to power through. If you think it’s fun, you’re going to pick it up easier.
