Theater

Santa Ana High School Theater Conservatory is a rigorous theater arts pathway that provides training in various acting techniques, voice and movement, character development, script analysis, and directing. Through practical and theoretical practice, students will study theater from all major schools and traditions and be prepared to perform, direct, discuss and write about theater from in all its forms and genres.

Students will graduate as well-rounded, disciplined actors/directors, studying in a variety of theatrical styles with a strong foundation in acting technique and various schools of directing and always with an emphasis on-stage performance. We will be rigorously working to develop, support, and encourage each student’s creative potential.

Masterclasses and guest artist residencies occur each term to allow students to work closely with renowned teachers, actors, and directors. Some of our partnerships include The Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble, South Coast Repertory Theater, and UC Irvine's Theater Arts Department. Graduates are currently serving as interns in these professional theater companies and many have pursued higher education at institutions including UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, and Chapman University.
