Video Production II UC-”f” 978RF/RS Level 3. This course provides instruction and training for students interested in careers in the video, broadcast, and film production industries. Students experience both the creative and technical aspects of filmmaking and video production in conjunction with learning about historical and contemporary traditions and conventions. Students will explore different aspects of the media and entertainment industry as it relates to potential career selections Students achieving competency in this course will be prepared to enter a film or broadcast journalism course of study at the college level or be prepared for entry level employment in those fields.
Writing for Stage & Screen- Film Academy UC-“b” 333T/TF/TS Level 2. Writing for Stage and Screen is designed to provide students a rigorous formal English course integrated with script writing for film and application with digital media projects. Scriptwriting skills will be developed to create meaningful connections between language arts and real life. This integrated course provides an engaging, contextualized learning environment for students to master the fundamental concepts of 9 th grade English. Throughout the year, students will develop their portfolio by creating a resume that would be suitable for the film industry. They will create a traditionally formatted resume and a portfolio of their creative work. Using a screenplay that they begin in the first unit, students will add concepts to their script and film footage for a pilot final film in the final unit. Santa Ana
Art of TV & Video Production UC- “f” 335T Articulated OCC Level 2. Students will develop and apply knowledge of artistic principles and aesthetics, and acquire technical skills in producing video from concept to finished product. The curriculum leads students to perceive video/film as both an art form and a communication tool reflecting and influencing historical and contemporary culture. Students will produce original work including short video projects that demonstrate understanding of the fundamental aspects of the production process.
Art of TV & Video Production - Advanced UC- “f” 977TF/TS Articulated OCC Level 3. Music Production
In this course, students will encounter a wide array of practical concepts critical to the production of music and the use of technology in the music industry. In order to develop as music professionals, students must be able to interpret the language of music. Students will develop competency in notation and rhythm by writing music by hand and with the use of software, as well as identifying features on the MIDI keyboard. As students encounter more advanced skills, such as solfège and scale types, they will begin to outline the historical development of melody, harmony, and song structure and then illustrate their mastery of these elements using the appropriate software. The course concludes with the exploration and integration of MIDI interface devices (keyboards, mixers, turntables) with composition and engineering tools to produce polished musical works.
Graphic Design & Animation
