The IRL  genre involves stories about real people or events. A story may be set in a certain period of history or revolve around a political or social event of the time.

Horror is a genre of storytelling intended to scare, shock, and thrill its audience. It often features a central villain, monster, or threat that reflects the fears experienced by society at the time.

Humor is a literary tool that aims to induce amusement or laughter, breaking monotony and revealing new and funny sides of life.

 Mystery is a fiction genre where a murder or similar crime remains mysterious until the end of the book. These stories often involve a whodunit scenario, where a criminal hides, and the process ensues to uncover their identity.

Mythology explores ancient stories about gods, creation, and cultural origins; folklore includes fictional tales rooted in real-world experiences; and fairy tales feature magical elements and often teach moral lessons.

The relationships genre explores the dynamics, emotions, and connections between people—whether romantic, familial, or platonic—in various contexts and situations 

Science fiction, often shortened to SCI-FI, is a genre of speculative fiction that typically deals with imaginative and futuristic concepts such as advanced science and technology, space exploration, time travel, parallel universes, and extraterrestrial life.

The self-help genre offers practical guidance and advice to help individuals improve their lives, overcome challenges, and achieve personal growth. 

Collection of Star Wars readings. Star Wars is a genre in our library because it is considered a space fantasy with  science-fiction settings. The world of Star Wars has science-fictional devices and technology that allows the story to take place.

The social issues genre explores real-world challenges, such as poverty, inequality, and discrimination, impacting individuals and communities within society.  

Books in the sports genre are stories where a sport has an impact on the plot or main character.
