Sauk Prairie High School operates in a 5 class period trimester schedule with an additional period for ARP. Below is additional information about the trimester schedule.
• Each trimester is approximately 60 days long.
• Each class period lasts approximately 68 minutes.
• Progress reports are issued once per trimester, on approximately the thirtieth day of the term. Students receive a final grade report at the completion of a trimester.
• A student must register for at least four credited classes each trimester but may sign up for five.
• Each trimester course is worth .5 credit. Therefore, a student may earn as many as 2.5 credits each trimester, which amounts to 7.5 possible credits per academic year and 30 possible credits during the four-year high school experience.
There are three different ways 1 credit classes can be scheduled in a trimester schedule. The options are shown below. (Note: the first trimester of the class = “A”; the second trimester of the class = “B”)
Each year the building principal determines staffing based on student requests. Changing schedules affects staffing. All schedule change requests outside of the course registration process need to go through the building principal. Students must maintain full time status unless approved by an administrator. Students with case managers will be required to initiate all changes through the case manager and principal.
