The Project Promise program at Newfound Regional High School is a free afterschool program open to all high school students. Our program provides students with a variety of engaging club opportunities while creating a safe, supportive environment where they can build relationships, explore their interests, and enhance both their social and academic experiences. This year, Project Promise is expanding our focus to include a Student Support Program designed to help students with homework completion, improve academic skills, and provide additional support for students who may be falling behind in their classes. Our goal is to create a space where students have a voice, feel a sense of belonging, and are excited to participate while receiving the support they need to be successful.
Project Promise is committed to helping students grow beyond the classroom by providing opportunities for leadership, mentorship, skill-building, and personal growth. We support students as they prepare for life after high school by encouraging them to explore new interests, develop confidence, and take on leadership roles within the program and their community. Through meaningful activities and positive connections, we strive to maintain an atmosphere that promotes creativity, collaboration, and success.
Afterschool programming is offered Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Students can participate in a wide variety of clubs and enrichment opportunities, including Bears in the Kitchen, ASL Club, Chess Club, Youth & Government, Poetry Club, Technology Student Association (TSA), Robotics Club, and many more. Our goal is to offer clubs that reflect student interests while providing a balance of recreational, creative, academic, and leadership-focused opportunities. Through these experiences, Project Promise encourages students to discover their passions, build new skills, and connect with their peers in a positive and supportive environment.
