Research
Research
Research is the "meat and potatoes" of an ELO. This is a real-world application of academic lessons where you can problem-solve, think critically, and collaborate with students and mentors. Your research must be purposeful and reflect the learning goals you establish with your mentor teacher/community mentor, and directors.
Methods of research will vary widely, depending on the type of ELO you are completing. This could be anything from academic research using primary and secondary sources, to sorting through the key responsibilities and critical skills of someone in a specific career field during an internship. It will also include keeping an "running" annotated research/bibliography list during your ELO.
No matter your ELO, it is critical to work with your mentor teacher/community partner/director to determine the best way to conduct and document your research.
