The rookie training program allows members with no prior VEX experience to learn about VEX without the pressure of being on a team and preparing for competitions. They work in groups of 2-3 to build and program various mechanisms that will help deepen their understanding of robotics. The rookies work and learn at their own pace, and once they have completed the tasks, they are placed on a competing team. Once a rookie is on a team, they are further mentored by the team members and continue to learn through building and programming the robot, as well as writing in notebook.
We provide many resources, such as slideshows, videos, and how to's to help the rookies better understand the program. They go through these resources with their group and complete the tasks, as well as learn about the different aspects.
This slideshow explains about different parts and tools that are used in VEX and what their purpose is.
This video gives step by step instructions on how to build a DR4B arm.
Our club programmers made a Google Site explaining how to program with RobotC. Click on the word "RobotC" to the right to view the site.
