Learning communities (we consider both teachers and students to be learners) think as researchers and gather information from a variety of sources. Students are extended to go beyond the known and are challenged to use their skills to acquire new knowledge.
Use a range of resources & methods to gather information (read, view, interview, survey, experiment, observe…)
Aim to connect with people, places & objects to broaden understanding
Critically assess the value of the information gathered
Document information gathered in a range of ways

Finding Images
What if we want to use images from the internet?
When performing research, we expect you to...
1. Use photos that you are free to use or share. You can do this by finding photos that are labelled for reuse in Google's Advanced Search. There are also photo-finding sites like CC Search (and those listed below) where you can find reusable images that are licensed under Creative Commons.
2. Attribute your image. Give credit to the owner of the image by identifying the following:
name of the image
the owner of the image
the link to the website where you found the image

Here's an example of how to attribute an image:
Creative Commons licenses are free copyright licenses that creators can use to indicate how they'd like their work to be used. Creators can choose from a set of six licenses with varying permissions, from the most open license to the least open license.
