Mr. Alex gets to know the students' interests and builds on them, while fostering a respectful and trusting relationship. "Cindy Hernandez stands out as an exceptional paraeducator. She consistently connects with all students, demonstrating a genuine understanding of their needs that extends beyond those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Whether working individually or in small groups, Cindy actively supports all students in completing assignments, while diligently focusing on IEP goals for those with specific learning plans.
Remarkably, Cindy proactively anticipates student needs. Through keen observation and interaction, she independently gathers insights and creates personalized notes at home—a testament to her dedication to every student's success.
During the challenging Visual Media art project, Cindy's commitment shone brightly. Recognizing students who needed extra support, she voluntarily arranged lunchtime sessions to ensure their completion. This assistance wasn't limited to students with IEPs; she extended her help to any student facing difficulties.
Beyond academics, Cindy fosters a positive and supportive learning environment. Her friendly demeanor and ability to set firm boundaries when necessary are appreciated by both students and teachers. With 17 years of experience in education, she is, without a doubt, one of the most effective and dedicated paraeducators I have encountered."

"Coach "Ace," as he's known, has gone above and beyond in the short amount of time he's been with us to connect students in difficult life circumstances with needed resources and supports. In particular, he helped a student on my caseload who has had a challenging year by facilitating his tryout for the school baseball team and to make sure that various service providers (both on and off campus) were in touch with the student. I am especially impressed with the way he continues to check in on the student and others he works with to ensure follow-through."

"Gaby naturally recognizes what is needed to help all students in the classroom. When she is in my classroom, she works collaboratively with me to support students. She is always willing to try a new strategy or even suggest one. She works hard to develop relationships with the students she is supporting, even in the face of very difficult behavior. With these students, she is able to recognize even small positive changes the student makes. Even when progress is slow, Gaby continues to do her best to support students. "Mrs. Chaidez goes above and beyond daily. The job of a para professional is challenging. It takes a lot of love, dedication, and patience. Mrs. Chaidez demonstrates all of these necessary qualities. It is common to see Mrs. Chaidez say hello to all children on campus. She knows our students, their families, and bring great joy t their lives. In the classroom, it is easy to mistake her as the classroom teacher as she expects great things from all children she works with. This means that she pre develops lessons, creates notes, understands the topics at hand, and ensures students are making growth. In addition, it is common to see Mrs. Chaidez communicating with education specialists about student lessons, expectations, and discussing goal growth. We are very blessed to have Mrs. Chaidez at our school. Equally important she has helped our school safety patrol to be one of the best in the county. Children are developing leadership skills by watching Mrs. Chaidez and modeling her skills. Thank you Mrs. Chaidez for being amazing. We are all better for having you at our school."

"Mrs. Mayra is a dedicated worker here at Pacific View Leadership. She works with all students and it is often you see her smile while in the classroom. She loves working with the children and it shows. What makes Mrs. Mayra so special is her smile. She says hello to adults, children, and families and always has a huge smile on her face. When we have students with challenging behaviors, it is common to see Mrs. Mayra jump in and support. In addition, she supports our newer PIFs by making suggestions, modeling support, yet holding herself to the high expectation that she holds her students. I believe it is because of Mrs. Mayra that our students are making huge growth and it is evident in our overall school culture and climate. Thank you Mrs. Mayra for being you, you make our school a better place."

"From the moment Johnny steps into the school, his passion for supporting students in the ESN class is evident. He has a special ability to connect with each child—meeting them where they are and helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Last year, when we had a middle school ESN sub all year long, Johnny provided the stability and support that all the students and parents needed. Beyond his work with students, Johnny is a pillar of support for staff and families alike in our ESN classrooms. He collaborates seamlessly with our special education teacher, Mrs. Johnson, and is willing to share insights, strategies, and encouragement to the students. His positivity, patience, and expertise create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for everyone. At the beginnng of the year, when we struggled with some UTK students who had not been identified with needs, we asked Johnny to assist and support as a pro-act trained educator. His patience and kind words and mannerism with students were exceptional and worthy for staff and admin to replicate in helping our youngest learners.
Johnny embodies what it means to be an exceptional educator, and we are so fortunate to have him as part of our school community. "

Furthermore, she is essential in our study skills classes where she often tutors students in science and tracks down students in other classes who need extra attention. She is intelligent, kind, and gentle with all of our most vulnerable students regardless of their disability category - Nathalie is a true blessing here at MBHS!

"**A Big Shout-Out to Kristen Beatty: Our Incredible Paraeducator**
I’m beyond excited to share a heartfelt shout-out to Kristen Beatty, our exceptional paraeducator whose dedication and energy transform our school every single day. Kristen truly is the heart and soul of Bay Park Elementary, and her impact is felt far and wide.
Imagine a day in the life of Kristen, and you'll see just how extraordinary she is. Each morning, Kristen arrives early, ready to dive into her role with enthusiasm and commitment. She begins by working with small groups of students, including those with IEPs, seamlessly integrating them with their general education peers. Whether she’s helping them with a challenging math problem or guiding them through a reading assignment, Kristen’s support is always tailored to each student’s needs, ensuring they get the most out of every lesson.
But Kristen’s involvement doesn’t stop at academics. During recess, you’ll find her on the playground, joining in the fun and games with the students. She plays with them, engages in their conversations, and builds connections that go beyond the classroom. Kristen knows her students’ friend groups, interests, and even their favorite games, making every interaction meaningful.
Kristen is also deeply invested in the wider school community. She encourages students to participate in various activities that enrich their school experience. As one of our School Safety Patrol advisors, Kristen mentors students in responsibility and leadership. She also supports the Peace Patrol, Kindergarten Lunch Leaders, and Student Council, helping students find their place and shine in these important roles.
Her commitment to making every student feel like they belong and can excel is truly next level. Kristen ensures that each student gets the most out of their time at Bay Park Elementary, whether they’re in the classroom, on the playground, or involved in extracurricular activities. "Dena Truelove, Passionate Paraeducator
I’m beyond excited to give a huge shout-out to Dena Truelove, a paraeducator who cares deeply about students. Dena’s positive energy and dedication are felt in every corner of our campus, and we’re all so incredibly lucky to have her as part of our community.
Every single day, Dena shows up with a big smile and an even bigger heart. She’s always ready to roll up her sleeves and make sure each student gets the attention, care, and support they need. Whether she’s working with small groups or one-on-one, Dena goes above and beyond to connect with our students in a way that makes a real difference in their lives.
One of the most inspiring things about Dena is how she’s worked with Rowan*, a student who has had some big challenges when it comes to social interactions. Dena didn’t just help him get by—she helped him thrive. She took the time to really understand him and came up with creative ways to help Rowan build his confidence and develop important social skills. Seeing how far he’s come, thanks to Dena, has been nothing short of amazing.
And that’s not all. Dena recently organized a “celebration of kindness” for students who were going through some tough personal struggles. She created an uplifting, joyful space for them, full of activities that encouraged them to feel good about themselves and each other. It was such a beautiful and thoughtful gesture—something only someone with Dena’s kind heart could pull off.
Dena’s impact goes way beyond her role in the classroom. She’s always there for everyone—students, staff, and families alike. She’s the kind of person who lifts everyone up with her positivity and warmth. She makes our school feel like a family, where everyone belongs and is cared for.
Dena, we see you, and we appreciate you more than words can say. You bring so much light, love, and joy to this school. Your hard work and kindness don’t go unnoticed, and we are so incredibly grateful for everything you do. You are a truly amazing human, and we’re so lucky to have you on our team!

Most importantly, Serena takes initiative in her work in supporting students. She is great with creating visual supports and helping reluctant learners with getting started on assignments and projects."

"This staff member does an amazing job at connecting with students one-on-one! Students look forward to seeing him in the classroom. His sense of humor, and ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds, makes him easily accessible to both adults and students alike at MBHS. In addition, he goes above and beyond after the school day has ended in his role as a golf coach."

"Makes the extra effort to learn the content and make extra materials to take with her to continue to work with the students outside of my classes. She helps them continue the work in study skills and gets them to a point where it is fully completed."

"David is a one on one aide to our visually impaired student Chris Adamson. Not only does he assist him in the classroom, but athletically as well. Chris is the first fully blind student to compete in high school track and field in San Diego and he can’t do this without the help of his aide David. David acts as his guide runner, he practices with Chris and majority of the time Chris relies on David’s direction. David has accompanied him to the CIF State Meet in 2023 where Chris and David won the national high school T11 championship! He also in the summer headed to the USATF Junior Olympics where Chris became a 2x All American with David once again by his side. The two have been covered on numerous news outlets and has expressed interest from the US Paraolympics Team. As of Today Feb 13, thanks partly to David’s help, Chris is a nationally recognized classified Para Olympian who next month will compete at the US Paraolympics Championships in Los Angeles with David by his side!"

"She really works to establish amazing connections with every student in the class, not just the individuals that need assistance. She is a dream to work with as a teacher as she is always on the same page and even one step ahead of me sometimes in terms of what I ask from her and relating to certain classroom management."

"I just really like that she's willing to read with students. No matter what book they pick (or I pick if they absolutely refuse to pick one), she always seems like she enjoys reading the story with them, and that helps tremendously, especially when kids are less than enthused about reading."

"Asilki goes above and beyond to support the Social and Emotional needs of our students in the 5th grade. She works with the school counselor to brainstorm and execute preventative supports such as participating in classroom community circles and small conflict resolution circles to promote a positive classroom climate within the classrooms she supports. Her ability to build a positive relationship with the students she serves has made a positive difference in the classroom community."

"Brenda Meyer is a dedicated, hard working and motivated professional who inspires her students to achieve success. This is evident in her words, actions, and the passion she displays while educating young minds. Brenda is also a needed and helpful support to me in the classroom. She reaches those students that require extra attention during my instruction, and scaffolds and tailors the assignments to draw engagement and success for each student she supports. I am truly grateful for Brenda Meyer, she is a valuable asset to our educational community!"

"Mr. Q is engaging with students, knows their names, and really helps kiddos with academics, and helps me with classroom management. Anytime I'm absent with a sub, I can truly count on Mr. Q to help maintain the appropriate learning environment. Even when I'm in class, he is still involved with kiddos, and a great help in the class too! I'm a big fan of this guy. :) "

"Ms. Cheryl arrives to school everyday with a positive attitude and ready to support Baker's students. She doesn't hesitate to support students with high level academic and social/emotional needs, along with those of differing abilities. Ms. Cheryl collects student data each day, and also carries out extensive positive reinforcement systems. When the general education teacher knows Ms. Cheryl is in the classroom supporting students, they feel a sense of relief and gratitude because they know she's one step ahead of them to ensure student safety and their success accessing the core curriculum. She is an important asset to Baker and deserves to be recognized for her dedication and achievements over the years in our district."

"Claudia takes on a lot during her day! She's been extremely flexible since we lost our full time Ed Specialist at the end of October, and acquired an intense group of 4th graders (in addition to her 3rd graders) to support social-emotionally as well as academically. Claudia has taken this group under her wing and provides them with consistent support throughout the day. She does running club with one student every morning and then provides small group reading intervention with two others before jumping into small group math and literacy support in the classroom. She attends various field trips for both 3rd and 4th grade. Claudia always remains positive and willing through it all. Baker loves Claudia!!"
