Spring Conference Week will offer a variety of exciting professional learning opportunities for paraeducators. Sessions will be led by multiple departments across the district, including Mental Health, TEACH-LEAD San Diego, the Lead PIF Team, Behavior Support Resources, Counseling & Guidance, and more. Most trainings will be offered online, with a few opportunities available in person. This is a great chance to build new skills, learn helpful strategies, and connect with colleagues across the district.

Join us at an upcoming health fair, hosted by VEBA, featuring wellness booths, screenings, giveaways, and raffle prizes. These events are open and free for all California Schools VEBA (CalVEBA) members and their dependents ages 18+.

The purpose of the Catastrophic Leave Bank is to create a bank of donated sick and vacation leave days which may be used by unit members suffering from a catastrophic illness or injury.
Catastrophic illness or injury is defined to mean a severe, incapacitating illness or injury which is expected to continue for an extended period of time which prevents the unit member from performing his/her duties.
*Probationary employees are not eligible for membership.
**It is the responsibility of the employee to make an annual donation to the Bank in order to maintain membership.

CPR Certification
PARA staff who perform specialized healthcare procedures within the scope of their work shall have current CPR certification.
The District provides a free online CPR training course through ProTrainings. Only PARA staff who are trained to perform specialized healthcare procedures are eligible for the free online CPR course. Examples of specialized healthcare procedures are gastric tube feedings, seizure management, three deep training, diabetes management, etc.
