52 students will take the ELPAC at Birney Elementary
4 proficiency Levels (1 is lowest > 4 is highest = Reclassification)
Students are expected to increase one level each year until Level 3
2 years is what some students need to move from Level 3 to Level 4
SO CLOSE! 14 students are on the cusp of moving from a score of 3 to a score of 4 on ELPAC reading, speaking, listening and writing
Goal of English Language Development program is that students will be able to become fluent in English
Assessment of a student's English language proficiency level is evaluated using annual ELPAC exam

RECLASSIFICATION
Scoring a Level 4 on ELPAC qualifies the student to be RECLASSIFIED - this is the goal of all EL programs
Reclassification Requirements
ELPAC Score of 4
Evidence of reading at grade-level (teacher assessment using FAST, Fountas and Pinnell or other district recognized evaluation)
Teacher recommendation & Parent consultation
