Week 4 - Journal
Ideation
Tell us about your assignment's idea for this week. Why do you care about this idea? What inspired you? (Please include images or links to sources of inspiration)
Fan with Lamp
Fan with Lamp
This week, the assignment idea is to simulate, and build a simple electronic device that performs two actions. Actually, I just inspired by my kit components. I tried to use what I have , So I made Fan with lamp!!
Tool Chain
Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?
card board
lamp
on/off switch
fan ( Dc)
male/male and male/female jumpers
5v adapter
led
breadboard
Tinkercad
Design/Preparation Process
Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?
Design circuits consists of:
mini breadboard
5V power supply
resistor
led
fan
wires
parallel connection
simulate
steps:
Use the tinkercad to demonstrate the circuit
build the circuit on real and test it
cut the cardboard to suit the sahwn parts like fan, swutch and the adapter blug
use the tap to fix the breadboard inside the box
use the tap to close the box
put the blug and swith on the circuit
Development/Implementation Process
Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?
fisrt, I decided to use components of fan, on/off switch, led, power supply and resistor. I draw the needed circut on tinkercad, simulated and it worked. then, I started to connect the circuit on the breadboard. I connected the fan and the led using the parallel connection and beacuse I used 12V led I didn't need the resistor and parallel connection was to get max. lightening of the 5V power supply. After it worked on real, I disconnected to cut the cardboard on the dimensions of the components. next step, reconnecting the wires and close its construction, then turn it on.
I used 5V adapter cause fan is working on 5v and the lamp is working on 12v, So I used 5V as not to burn the lamp. Using the parallel conection is get constant voltage on the fan to work efficiently and max voltage on lamp to light well. If i used the series connection I couldn't decide if the output current will be suitable for both or not.
Community of Learning
Did you ask for feedback? What are the ideas that others have contributed or suggested? What was someone else’s idea that you built upon? How did you help your peers? How did your peers help you?
I aske dthe instructor in the session about the best way to connect the components, she adviced me with parallel connection.
Overcoming Challenges
When you got stuck, what/who did you turn to? At what point did you have to pause to research or learn more before moving on? What are some mistakes, pitfalls, or challenges that others can avoid if they were doing this assignment?
the design was really simple, I just made many trials in connections to check the components and tha caples. I didn't need extra search or advice
Final Project
How can you use the skills and knowledge that you've acquired this week in your final project?
I aquired experience of working on tinkercad and simulation to help me modify the circuit without using the power to avoid the accidents. Plus, using the H-bridge connection. also, working with electronics was very useful and interesting.
WOW!
What is the coolest thing that you've learned this week? What is something that you will never forget from this week?
prototyping my first car <3
Weekly Digest [OPTIONAL]
Tell us about any other cool things that you've made this week: in the Hands-on activity, tutorial examples, exercises, or any other cool mini-project that you tried out aside from the assignment.
The Hackathon! Cool to work with different people and made the Car then the competition.
