PC cooler
Inspiration
This week assignment is about fabricating a simple electrical device that performs at least two actions. So basically my laptob always heats up whenever i work on it for longer hours so i needed to design a cooling system for it for a long time and that inspired me to include it in my assignement.
The image on the left is an inspiration and a reflection of my assignement. The requirement was such that the device is made of cardboard and it should perform two actions and in my case i used a DC fan and a light bulb which indicate that the device is operational.
Components
9v adapter for the power supply
5V voltage regulator because the DC fan needs 5V power source
breadboard to ease connection for the circuit and to fit my box
5V DC fan for cooling the PC
jumber wires to connect between components
crocodile wires to connect between components
12 V light bulb to indicate if the system is on or off
on/off switch to control power supply
Materials
cardboard sheets for the device body
scissors
superglue
Software
Tinkercad to design the device circuit and simulate
In this circuit, we have the on and off switch as an input, light bulb and 5v dc fan as an output. we are going to use a parallel connection in order to avoid failure on other devices in case one has failed for protection and safety purposes. Also to make not affect the voltage across other components and make each component operate in its peak voltage.
Inserting breadboard
Inserting 9v power supply
Inserting 5v DC fan with 5V voltage regulator to lower the 9V power supply into 5v for the fan
Inserting 12 V light bulb and making connections in parallel with 9v source
Adding a push button instead of switch
Connecting the push button in series and connecting the other components to the push button
Simulation video in tinkercad
preparation of the circuit
Testing of the circuit
testing voltage in each component,in this case voltage across the voltage regulator is 5V while using a 9v adapter which is correct
cooler fabrication using cardboard and preparing holes for fan, lightbulb, power supply and switch
integrating the electronic parts to the cooling device body and testing
final product testing
When I tested the circuit at the beginning, the DC fan did not work because I used a 9v adapter so i had to add a 5V voltage regulator and issue was solved.
I feel like iam excited with working on my project than before because of the skills aquired in electronics which will help me have in control integrated component in my project

7 segment circuit
I would say the coolest thing i learned this week is the H BRIDGE circuit in breadboard which helps you move forward and backward using wheels.
The coolest thing from this week was the end of week session when we had to participate in a Makaton of SUMO RC car using H bridge and what makes it special is that our name <undefeatable> really reflected us because we haven't been defeated once💪 .
