mobile holder
idea from video design No.3, it is a shared mobile holder. make it from cardboard in a hands-on activity, I try to design it on Fusion 360.
using Fusion 360 for design. it is a simple software to turn your idea into a design for machines
Laser Work software to laser cutting
this software to preparing design properties before cutting and control which part will be cut or scanned, by changing the power and speed of the machine.
This is Morn MT3050D CO2 Laser Cutter.
3mm plywood.
1- Bottom shape
first, get the dimensions of all parts from the cardboard design.
make a design on fusion 360.
start with the Bottom shape
draw a square with dimension (100*100 mm).
have four symmetric holes and slots.
draw construction lines in the center of the square.
draw hole (3.2 diameters), rectangle slot (20*3.2 mm), mirror those around construction lines.
2- front shape
first, get the dimensions of all parts from the cardboard design.
draw the front shape:
draw a square with dimension (100*20 mm).
draw construction lines in the center of the square.
draw T-slot with dimensions from here, and put it in the center.
rectangle slot (20*3.2 mm), mirror this around construction lines.
double it from copy and paste.
3- triangle shape
first, get the dimensions of all parts from the cardboard design.
draw a triangle shape
with dimension (75*60 mm).
draw construction lines in the center of the square.
draw T-slot with dimensions from here, and put it in the center.
rectangle slot (25*3.2 mm), mirror this around construction lines.
double it from copy and paste.
3- bridge shape
first, get the dimensions of all parts from the cardboard design.
draw bridge shape
draw a square with dimension (90*35 mm).
draw construction lines in the center of the square.
rectangle slot (25*3.2 mm), mirror this around construction lines.
choose the extrude icon.
select the bottom part and give it a 3mm thickness.
Do these steps with all parts with the same thickness.
choose the joint assembly icon.
select the square face in the slot of the side part and the square face in the hole of the bottom part which will be joined together.
make the same steps of another side with the bottom.
select the square face in the slot of the triangle part and the square face in the hole of the bottom part which will be joined together.
make the same steps of another triangle with the bottom.
select the square face in the slot of the bridge part and the square face in the hole of the triangle part which will be joined together.
make the same steps of another triangle with the bridge.
now all parts are assembled successfully. yahhh
choose the sketch 1.
right click and choose save as DXF.
Do these steps with all parts.
import DXF files (Bottom, Side, Triangle, bridge) to Laser Work.
delete any construction lines.
move parts close to each other to the corner of the sheet.
copy shapes of (Side, Triangle)
adjust the speed and power to all of the parts to cut it.
speed: 25.
power: 70.
save file as .rld
make sure the setting of the design is correct.
power 65 to 70
speed 25
download the file to the machine.
put a wood sheet in the machine.
set the origin of the laser beam.
making sure the focus is right.
choose the file and run it.
seeing a shifting line for design, But this is not a cut line it is a small graving line, happened because of laser alignment, and the machine was cleaned before I used it.
These lines did not affect cutting and all parts assembly successfully.
the curve base of the chair was cut as a single piece not a piece of the side of the chair. (I used glue to fix it)
to solve this problem use the trim tool in fusion 360 and cut the selected line
seeing a prototype from low fidelity(cardboard) to design it from scratch on Fusion 360 and cut it and assemble it.
sharing mobile holder
Drawing parts as a team then assembly it, and make one part it is really fun to me
