HEALTH SCIENCE AND MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY PATHWAY

Sports Medicine 1/2:  Provides pathway students with skills, knowledge, and experience in the areas of physical therapy, athletic training, nutrition, and fitness.  Will focus on anatomy and physiology of various muscle groups, the skeletal system, theory of exercise, care and prevention of athletic injuries, rehabilitation, training room organization and skills.Certifications offered for qualified students: First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA. 10 Credits (UC “G” Approved) First year in pathway

Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer: Science standards based course; students will learn about the anatomy and physiology of stems, theories and methods or prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation body’s chemical response to pharmaceutical agents, disease, injury and stress will be pods of observation. Investigation, experimentation, data collection and data analysis will also be studied. Students are provided substantial opportunities techniques working with school athletes, athletic trainers and other practicing. Certifications offered for qualified students: First Aid, CPR. 10 Credits (UC “D” Approved) Capstone
