Procedure for the experiment:

How to prepare mother tincture of Cooper sulfate (II) CuSO4

Challenge: prepare a concentration of 100 mL of Cooper sulfate II (CuSO₄) 0,1 mol/L

MEASURING

1. Calculate the required mass of CuSO₄ to preparare 100 mL of solution.

Calculate the molar mass of CuSO₄(Cu: 63,5; S: 32, O: 16)
Calculate the number of mols in 100 mL of solution 0,1 M
Convert the number of mols to grams using the molar mass.

WEIGHTING

2. Using the watch glass, weight in the digital kitchen scale the grams of CuSO₄ that you have mesured in the previous part.

Move the watch glass on the scale and press T. Wait until you can see 0.
Put on the watch glass with a spatula the grams of CuSO₄that you have measured.

Dissolving

3. Now put the amount of CuSO₄ into the beaker (glassware).

Add water to reach the volume of 75 ml. Shake with the scoopula until it is dissolved.
Transfer the solution into a volumetric flask and add water until achieve a volume of 100ml.
