Community Service

FCCLA Members collected nonperishable food items and helped stock the food pantry at two locations in Salado. Our Chapter look forward to participating in the day of service each year. It is a great way for us to give back to our community. 

Happy Feet Event

 Members also had the opportunity to work along side other volunteers at the annual Happy Feet Event. This event ensures that those in need have new shoes. Member also handed out all of the socks we collected for Socktober.

Heart and Hands Ministries hosts a community wide Thanksgiving meal each year. FCCLA members volunteer at this event. Members assist diners to their seats, carry take out plates and helped unload the food donations. In addition members picked up trash and cleaned tables.  Members enjoy giving up part of their Saturday to serve our community. 

Members prepared and served soup at the annual Empty Bowls Project. Bowls were donated by Salado High School art classes and a local business, Mud Pies. The fundraiser benefits the Salado Family Relief Foundation. The foundation assists local families with monthly expenses from groceries to utility bills. This is an event we look forward to each year!
