Since moving to Oregon my work has been at the Redmond Library, Redmond Airport, One Street Down in Redmond, St Charles Hospital and Sage Custom Framing in Bend, and at the Bend Senior Center. I am a member of SageBrushers Art Society and PAPO in Bend. I am always trying new methods, mediums, and styles. The learning process never stops. You continue to grow in art; it is a way of life, and a wonderful trip.” - Michelle Oberg

Starting Your Abstract Painting

An “Art is Fun!” Class, with Gerlinde Gelina

Monday, March 14, 10AM – 12:30PM. Sagebrushers Art Society member artist Gerlinde Gelina will guide participants in a 2.5-hour session, playing with acrylic paint and paper to get started on your own abstract design. Have some fun with loose strokes and well-placed line elements and learn how to bring your abstract ideas to life.

Open to Sagebrushers Art Society members only. Class size limited to 8. Cost: $10. 12x12 canvas paper provided; participants should bring their own acrylic paint, matte medium, and brushes.

For more information or to register contact Barbara Crislip at barbjc45@yahoo.com. RSVP required by March 7. Vaccinations and masks required.

Gerlinde’s Gelina abstract work is multi-layered; strong yet gentle and warm. Using acrylic paint, collage material and pencils she responds intuitively to previously established impressions. While building up layer upon layer different marks and lines create more and more depth. The final piece should invite the viewers to find their own stories between the layers and shapes.
