Acceptable Use for Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools (AUP)
Grades 3-5
At Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools, the use of Chromebooks and the Internet is for education only. They allow students to conduct research, learn, and communicate with others. Because our technology choices affect ourselves and others, and because the use of technology at SAES is a privilege, not a right, the expectation is that SAES students will follow, and support, this agreement both in and out of school.
Computer Care
I will treat Chromebooks gently and with care
I will carry the Chromebook closed, holding it with both hands
I will not drink or eat while using my Chromebook
I will report any damaged or broken computers to my teacher
Online Behavior
I understand that it is not okay to bully, say hurtful things, or threaten anyone online.
I will use appropriate language when communicating online.
I will use the Chromebook to do teacher-approved school work only.
I will not use my school email address or password to sign up for apps or websites unless my teacher tells me it is okay.
Online Safety
I will not give out any personal information over the Internet without first checking with an adult. This includes my name, email address, password, phone number, and street address
If I find information online that makes me uncomfortable or nervous, I will notify my teacher
I will tell my teacher and parents if anyone on the Internet asks me personal questions
I will delete emails from people I do not know without responding, clicking on links, or downloading attachments
I will not share pictures or videos of myself or others without my teachers permission
I will not sign up for any app or website at school, or home, if I am not old enough
Truthfulness
I will not copy work from the Internet and claim it as my own
If I use the information I find online (including text, images, music, and videos), I will identify the source
I will not copy work from other students without their permission
Privacy
I understand that when I am logged in to my SAES Google account, all of my online activity (websites visited, emails sent and received, chat history, etc.) is not private. Teachers, principals, and my parents have access to my account
However, my online activity is private from other students, unless I decide to share it with them
SAES technology staff even have access to my deleted content, including emails and chats
Security
My password is private. I will not share it with anyone other than a trusted adult, such as my parents or teachers. It is not ok to share my password even with my best friends, brothers, or sisters.
I will not try to log on as someone else.
I will not ask someone for their password.
If another student finds out my password, I will contact my teacher so my password can be changed.
Acceptable Use Policy for Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools
At Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools, the use of Chromebooks and the Internet is for education only. Students may conduct research, learn, and communicate with others using the Chromebooks provided. Additionally, how we use technology represents our family, school, and community. Because our technology choices affect ourselves and others, and because the use of technology at SAES is a privilege, not a right, the expectation is that SAES students will follow, and support, this agreement both in and out of school. By signing this document you agree that you have read the SAES AUP with your parents, and you agree to follow the rules and guidelines listed in the SAES Acceptable Use Policy both in school and at home. Failure to follow this policy may result in the loss of Chromebook privileges and/or further disciplinary action.
