During every class (week 1-3) each student should receive a traffic light signal. Traffic lights are used to indicate the status of your job-readiness documents (Project 1) and their preparedness for use in hunting for your work placement opportunities. However, contrary to the traffic lights you may encounter on a city street, a red light does not mean you stop. It actually means that we need put in some extra effort to get your documents up to a suitable standard. Whichever coloured light you receive, we are here to help and to provide support and guidance.
The intention is that every person enrolled in CIU310 Work Placement receives a green light by the end of week 3, meaning that every person should be ready to start hunting for a work placement. You may be ready sooner if your documents are of a suitable standard!
Red Light - Do not stop
You may be given a red light if:
You have not made a start on your application documents
The application documents you have produced are something other than what is expected
There are fundamental or major errors that need to be fixed.
In this case it is highly recommended that you meet with the unit facilitator to create a plan to get back on track.
Amber Light - Keep going
You may be given an amber light if:
You have prepared application documents but there is important feedback to action
Green Light - Go!
You may be given a green light if:
Your application documents are at a suitable standard to start approaching industry organisations regarding work placement opportunities.
There may be few minor adjustments to be made prior to approaching industry organisations
Green light means GO... Red light means GO FASTER!
