You will produce an online portfolio, a resume and a cover letter.
Guidance on these is provided during the compulsory workshops (Weeks 1-3).
The documents must be viewed by your facilitators before you approach prospective work placement opportunities.
Job Search
You will then search for a work placement (one or more).
Guidance on job searching strategies, interview skills and networking is also provided during the compulsory workshops
Work placement can commence once a work placement agreement has been signed (See your facilitator)
Next you will undertake your work placement (or placements) totalling a minimum of 80 hours.
Apply your knowledge and transferable skills
Evaluate your own performance and demonstrate reflective practice
Keep track of the hours worked
Make observations about your activities and the systems and processes of the company
Regularly update your learning journal
Finally, you will reflect on your work placement experience
Learning Journal (Requirement - Submit week 13)
Your learning journal should be submitted by Friday of week 13
A minimum of 3 entries are required, however continual reflection throughout your placement is strongly encouraged. I recommend viewing this Guide on how to structure your reflections.
Host Organisation Assessment (Requirement - Submit week 13)
Inform your facilitator when you have completed your hours. They will send a host feedback form to your placement provider. This feedback will be uploaded to Campus Online by your facilitator, no action is required by you for submission.
