It is important to keep a log of two things for this module:
Places you have applied to for job placement which includes company name, date you applied, who you contacted and what their response was.
A log of your hours during placement include date, number of hours and an overview of tasks you did during that time.
Save a copy of this spreadsheet (or create your own based off of this example) to keep track of places you have applied to for the work placement module.
It's important, in particular, to note down who you talked to (either via email or phone) and what outcome was mentioned (eg. call us back in a month, we need to see more evidence of editing in your portfolio, contact this person for an interview, etc).
Remember, you need to be proactive with applications to source a placement. You should be completing a minimum of 4-5 applications per week. If you don't ask, you don't get!
Recording work placement hours - It is up to you to keep a record of all work placement hours accrued.
Please make a copy of this and DO NOT edit the original copy.
Make sure to keep track of the date, location (if you are doing multiple placements), overview of duties fulfilled during those hours and the number of hours.
Please ensure you update this throughout your placement so I can see where you're up to with hours. Please share this document with me as soon as you have made a copy!
Once you have completed your hours, get your host to sign off and confirm that it is correct. Hosts can also confirm your hours on placement through the host feedback form.
