Eighth Grade Parents and Students Presentation for those interested in IB
Gray-New Gloucester High School proudly offers our students the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program (DP). Established in 1968, the IB DP was the first program offered by the IB and is taught to students aged 16-19- juniors and seniors at our school. There are 2,795 schools offering the DP, in 143 different countries worldwide, including two other IB DP schools in Maine: Greely High School and Kennebunk High School.
Through the DP, we are able to develop students who:
Student can choose to access the IB DP program by either immersing themselves in the entire program, known as "Diploma Students (DP)," which includes taking the ToK course, completing a 4,000 word research Extended Essay (EE), and completing the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) component, or, by taking only the courses they want to study, known as being a "Course Student (CS)."
