This is an introductory course open to any student who would like to learn the basics of both watercolor and acrylic painting. Students will begin with some basic drawing skills and further develop them into painting techniques.

IB Visual Art 1 Grade 11

This is an advanced level course for students with not only strengths in artistic ability but overall strength in academics. Students need to be self-motivated as this course is student-designed and directed. This course requires a lot of organization and writing as students are expected to document and reflect on every step of their process. Some research is required. The IB Art curriculum has three major categories all work is geared towards: the Comparative Study, the Process Portfolio, and the Final Exhibition.
Prerequisites: Two art classes, art history, application and teacher approval
IB Visual Art 2 (SL & HL) Grade 12
Full Year Course Numbers: 1008 (SL) & 1235 (HL)
This is the continuation of the year 1 IB Art course. Year two finalizes the three major components: The Comparative Study is a research project comparing three artworks and artists, the Process Portfolio is a two year slideshow journal documenting the entire experience, and the Final Exhibition which displays a collection of the student artist’s best work.
Prerequisties: IB Visual Art 1 and teacher approval
