2 April 2025
I learnt about oribits, moon phases, total and lunar eclipses. I learnt about neutron stars. I like the lesson and blooket quizzes because it is fun. The simulations is fun and interesting. I learnt about the habitable zone, and planet atmosphere that affects the greenhouse effect in the planet itself. I hope to learn more about the planets and stars.
9 April 2025
We had a fun time sharing our presentation slides about what we learnt last week. We get to spend time making slides and showing it to others and take in feedback(if any). At the start of the lesson we got to play a fun blooket game. It was a recap on last week's lesson and it was very competitive. I hope for more engaging activities.
16 April 2025
Today we learnt about orbits and 3 kepler laws. We also learnt about eccentricity and how big our universe is.
7 May 2025
We learnt about other planets that NASA should put money to research more about, and did a slides presentation. I think the presenters during the lesson can speak louder because I did not hear anything at all.
Exit pass questions:
I think Galileo had a greater influence because he significantly improved upon the design, creating more powerful telescopes with higher magnification and making important astronomical discoveries.
14 May 2025
Today we made a moon base on tinkercad in groups of 4 and got to present it, it was very fun. I would want to add research labs in my moon base. In the Sandbox lesson, I learnt that the moon is cold and needs heat sources to keep the humans alive.
This lesson is better because there is good lesson content.
20 May 2025
Today we made a Mars space base on Tinkercad and we played a fun Kahoot.
2 July 2025
Today there was an upper sec presentation, they talked about their experience, and we played blooket. The exco launched a rocket in a simulator game.
Toady we went to do the fox hunting activity, and it was the most fun activity out of all the other lessons. We used radio wave receivers to track the radio transmitter in groups of 5. I managed to find the transmitter twice on my own an I was proud of myself. The activity was very fun.
Exit Pass Questions:
Q1: How do you think fox hunting works?
Ans: Using radio wave receivers to track a radio wave transmitting device.
Q2: What do you think are the applications of fox hunting in astronomy?
Ans: To find radio wave galaxies. Strong radio wave receivers can be used to find them easier.
6 August 2025
Today we learnt trigonometry sine cosine and tangent, sin cos tan. The lesson was engaging and fun, we did some questions and we learnt a lot of new things. I hope to have more lessons like this. We also learnt about stars properties.
Exit Pass Questions:
Q1: How do you think you can apply the sine and cosine rule in real life?
To flex on my friends and to do math questions involving angles and trigonometry.
Q2: How to measure the mass of a star?
To measure the mass of a star, scientists primarily rely on observations of its gravitational interactions with other celestial bodies. This can involve analyzing the orbital motion of planets around the star, the movement of binary star systems, or the bending of light around the star due to gravitational lensing.
13 Aug
We learnt about wavelengths. We played a fun 10 mins Blooket game to test our knowledge. We then learnt about the doppler effect and star spectra and why there are no green or violet stars.
Exit Pass Questions:
Can stellar spectrometry be applied somewhere else?
20 Aug
We learnt about the sun and other stars, composition and mass. Today we did a fun blooket and of course I won and it was very fun.
We also learnt about stellar evolution and the definition of main sequence. We learnt about star clusters and helical rising.
27 Aug 2025
Today we did 2 rounds of fox hunting, finding the transmitter with our reciever. We also did a fun quizizz that tested our knowledge about the sun. Today we learnt more about the sun, and that it is 109 earths in diameter. We also watched a video about the sun and how it can release plasma, CME and disrupt our daily life and cutting out power sources and electricity.
Exit Pass Question:
What surprised you most about the sun today?
Answer: I think what surprised me the most was how the CMEs can disrupt electricity and power sources.
