26 March 2025 (our first session) was fun as we got to have ice breakers and play fun games to get to know each others. We also got to play blooket and pass down your name to the front of each queue to get to know each others names. It was a nice session as our seniors were nice and patient with us. In the session we got to know alot more people and made new friends. Even though at first i was nervous the session turned out to be fun.
2 April 2025 (our second) lesson we got to learn alot more about the solar system and other things in space. I found out that space is so much more amazing then i thought. I also had fun and learnt alot and the same time. We also got to explore space simulations to see the things going on in space.
9 April 2025 (third session) For this session first we did a recap blooket then, we grouped into 6 groups and made slides on the Earth, Moon, sun and stellarium. Doing the slides was really fun as we got to design it on our own and we had fun memories along the way. When presenting we had a nice time presenting even with a few mistakes we still had fun. Listening to other groups slides, i learnt other information that i didnt add into our slide. This lesson was a very good catch up to last session.
16 April 2025 (fourth session) In this session we learnt alot about gravity and orbits, we learnt alot about how fast the planets orbit. After that we also got to do a quiz which where we had fun as the excos made the quiz fun. We also got to do a simulation. After that we got to do blooket. I liked the session as it was fun and informational. Scientists uses light years instead of kilometers as scientist dont want huge numbers.
23 April 2025 (fourth session) If i could travel back in time i would tell them how good astronomy is and its uses like how we can use it to see the time and date of the day and can be used in many things and can help understand space. Radiation can reveal different wavelength to see the stars in the milky way. This session was nice as we learned alot on science about space very informative and fun session.
30 April 2025 (Fifth session) We learnt a lot about different telescopes and how to use telescopes. We learnt about different types of lenses and telescopes. We also learn how to assemble a telescope and how to be safe when doing it. 3 cool things is that i learnt about telescopes is that they can zoom in to anything, have a variety of them and have motorised telescopes.
7 May 2025 (sixth session) we started off with getting into groups to do a presentation on which planet Nasa should spent their resources studying. Our group chose trappist 1F which then we spent time working on our presentation on why trappist 1F is good planet to study. We then started sharing our slides with the rest of the students. I learnt a lot about why other planets were also good for studying. Exit pass: I think Galileo had a bigger influence on Astronomy as Galileo started the birth of mordern Astronomy with his studies on the Moon, phases of the universe and the moons around jupitor.
14 May 2025 (seventh session) First we started the session off with playing blooket crypto hack about the sixth session. Then we got into groups to build a moon base on tinkercad which was our first time using tinkercad in Astronomy, hence it was a new experience. After that we learnt about trappist 1 and other thints on Universe Sandbox. We got to watch jupitor get pulgirised by a magnetar. Question answers: i would add a more things that can help study space. I would edit the base base on the factors.
21 May 2025 (eight session lucky number!!!!) We started off we a summary of what we have learnt for the last few sessions. I got new knowlege of what i had not knew before. We also played Kahoot even though i didnt do well it was still fun. Exit qn: they brought space ships to put parts on mercury to get space base there.
2 July (ninth session first of t3) We started off with some talks by seniors and we got welcomed back to astronomy, next we got shown a simulation of a rocket. The simulation allowed the senior to design his rocket then blast it off. To end it off we played blooket.
9 July (tenth session) We went to the admt lab to hear some announcements made by mr tan. Next we went to science lab and we filled in our slides with information that we had to fill in. It was also a nice experience as the excos didnt make the information boring. Qns. I think that neutron star astronomy will continued to be studied to understand neutron stars better. Red dwarfs are small, cool, and long lived starfs. White dwarf stars are hot remance of stars that have exhausted their nuclear fuel.
23 July (eleventh session) Today we did fox-hunting where we were teamed up to find the "fox" that has been hidden somewhere in the school. We thought that it was being hidden but advaith was carrying it with him. I was paired with joel, jamie and zachariah for hunting the "fox". We had to hold the radio reciever and when we heard the beeping sound we knew we were near. Although there can be improvements this has been a good session as we had fun. Qns: i think fox hunting works by having a radio and a radio reciever that will beep when it comes near to the "fox". We can use radio reciever to tell where things are in space.
6 Augest (tweleve session) Today we learnt about triognometry or something. We had a lesson by advaith and another exco. We learnt about cosine and sines formular. The lesson today was harder to understand as it was complicated. Todays session was very informative. We can use cosine and sine to figure out the angles on a triangle and the length of a triangle which can be used in various jobs. We can measure the mass of a star by observing the gravitational pull of other objects.
13 August (thirtheenth session) Today we learnt about stars. We learnt how they start out and their different stages and which colours are the coolest and the hottest. We also played crpyto hack blooket which was fun after a lecture. Yes it can be applied.
20 August (fourteenth session) We learnt about stars. We also watch advaith use univese sandbox. The excos also tried to make people take notes my handing out candies as prizes for blooket and taking notes. The last part we played a game of blooket gold quest which was chaotic as many people kept swapping. Overall good session as we could have fun.
27 August (fifteenth session) We started off with doing fox hunting again (2nd time this year), I was teamed up with Joel, Jamie, Zachary and Zachariah. Together we tried to find the radio thingy. Even though our group ended up not being able to find it, we still had fun. Later, we went back to the physics lab and played quizziz(wayground), we had fun. Next we watched video on the sun. Exit ticket, what suprised me most was that the suns core is that hottest, this means that on extremely hot days, the sun isnt at its full potential. Over all good session.
