2 April 2025 -i learnt how to use stellarium web today and it was fun as we got to explore stars and look at planets. we also got to play blooket lessons and those were fun too i am quite happy that i attended this lesson as i got to learn new things and explore planets on the web page.
9 April 2025 -todays lesson i got to play blooket at the start to refresh my memory on last weeks lesson, it really helped refresh my memory on the topic and stay on track. after the game we had to make slides about earth moon sun and stellarium a web page last weeks CCA lessons topics. it was fun as i got to work with new people i have never met.
16 Apr 2025- todays lesson we got to learn about 3 kepler laws, the first law is that all planets orbit the sun in eliptical paths with the sun located at one of the 2 FOCI of the elipse. 2 law the imagine ry line joining a planet & the sun sweeps equal areas of space daring equal time intervals as the planets orbits Basically the speed of the planet is not constant it moves faster when closer to the sun and slower when further away the 3 law is as the radius of the orbit increases so does the time
23 Apr 2025 _ todays lesson we learned alot of usefull information one of them was radiation waves eg wavelengths is measured in nm Amplituce is measured in DB for soundwaves volts for electricity frequency is measured in hertz the blooket at the end of the lesson was fun too as i got to ecap on teh information that i had learned today
7 may 2025 - todays lesson we got to make slides about which planet is habitable with friends and present them which was very fun. After that we had to debate why that planet was so good i also learnt alot of new planets thanks to other peoples presentations we also learnt about celestail shere and mordern astronomy. i feel that galileo had a greater influence in astronomy as Galileo studied speed and velocity, gravity and free fall, the principle of relativity, inertia, projectile motion and also worked in applied science and technology, describing the properties of the pendulum and "hydrostatic balances".
14 may 2025- today we did a blooklet in the first half and it was realy fun and i got the chance to recap on the topic of telescopes. in the second half we did thinkercad and were tasked to make a moon base that is livable and presented it. in the third half we learned about the conditions in order for life to exsit which is star lumiosity type of star atmosphere and how reflective the star is.
21 may 2025- todays lesson we did a summary at the start and i got to recap on all the topics that i have learnt in the time that i have been in astronomy after that we did kahoot and i got 5 place after that we got to make a bace on mars and it was really fun we got 4/4 marks for it and the only thing we had to improve is to put a dome on the solar panel. exist pass: moon bases will be built with heat protective material as its too hot
2 july 2025-we did the welcome back to astro thing and we learned how to launch a rocket using KSB and after that we also got to try it for ourselves! we also got to play a blooket quiz whiched helped improve my memory over the june holidays overall todays lesson was fun and engaging
9 July 2025- todays lesson we learnt about the sun, parts of the sun that we learnt about are corona chromosphere photosphere convective zone radiative zone and core some things that i learnt today are that the corona is the upper atmosphere of any star. it is a region of extremely hot low dense plasma and that nuclear fusion involves the fusing of subatomic particles reflection Q1:
23 July 2025- todays lesson we got to meet some people from an overseas secondary school after that we got to do foxhunt and i was really fun as we got to run around the school trying to find it. my manage to find it once which was exciting and enaging. it was competitive and a good learning experience too as we got to learn how to use the device. Q1 foxhunting is a activity where a persons uses a device to find something hidden Q2 GPS
6 Aug 2025-todays lesson we learnt this
exit pass1: finding unknown sides of a triangle
exit pass 2:observing a star's motion, particularly in binary or multiple-star systems, and by using the principles of gravity and orbital mechanics
13 Aug 2025- todays lesson we learnt about the sun and red giants and the order in which is hotter is, blue white yellow orange and red. another thing i learnt today is the life of a star which is a nebula to a sun-like star to a red giant to a planetary nebula to a white dwarf. exit pass: physics
20 Aug 2025-todays lesson we learnt about planets and blackholes, this are some notes that i had taken down. pulsars are neutron stars that beam radiation waves, it was first discovered in 1967 ,the core of a black hole is 3 times the mass of the sun which collaspes into a black hole, in 5 billion years--red giant--planetary nebula--white drawf. after that we also had a blooket which was fun
27 Aug 2025-todays lesson we did foxhunting which was fun as we got to walk around the school and try to find something thats beeping. sadly we didn't find it tho and lost, after that we had to do a quizziz which was fun as i got to learn and recap on the recent topics. we got a lesson on the sun and something new that i had learnt today was that the sun was made up by layers e.g. the core which is in the center of the sun and the corona which is the outermost layer of the sun. exit ticket: one thing that surprised me today was that there was a 12% chance for a solar flare to hit earth
