Daily Expectations:
We encourage the students to "be your best" everyday. This does not mean they have to be the most competitive or demonstrate the highest skill level. It means we expect the students to put forth their best effort in everything that they do. We are looking for the students to: follow directions, listen attentively, demonstrate a positive attitude and appropriate social skills, participate and put forth their best effort. Behaviorally, we have a 3 strike policy, that is represented by our color coded behavior chart on the wall. Should a student misbehave, it will be tracked on their chart. All students start the day with a green card facing forward (A for the day). It is their goal to keep their card green by trying their best in all 3 of the main grading categories.
Strike 1-The student will change their card from green to yellow.
(First strike is just a visual reminder that they need to make better choices. The student is allowed to continue playing)
Strike 2- The student will change their card from yellow to orange.
(This means they have been spoken to on at least two separate occasions about their behavior and they must take a time out from play. When the student feels they are ready to participate again, appropriately, they are welcome to rejoin the lesson.)
Strike 3-The student will change their card from orange to red.
(At this point the student has been spoken to several times about their behavior and must sit out for the remainder of class.)
Report Card Grading Policy:
Students are given a grade 1-4 in three main categories for physical education:
Participation/Effort
Listening to Instructions & Following Directions
Social Skills
