THE REVOLUTION IN SONG AND STORY

Balladeer Linda Russell brings the world of 18th century Westchester to musical life in this entertaining, educational and interactive presentation. In period dress and accompanying herself on hammered and mountain dulcimers, guitar and penny whistle, Linda performs the ballads, broadsides, love songs, marches, and dance tunes of the Hudson Valley during the Revolutionary War. Interwoven with the music are stories of Colonial times. There is hands-on participation, as children are encour-aged to try instruments and sing choruses.

REMEMBER THE LADIES: 18TH C. WOMEN IN SONG

In this musical journey, we hear songs of 18th century women at work, in love, as patriots and in mourning. Interspersed with the songs are excerpts from women's diaries and letters along with stories of Deborah Sampson who fought as a soldier in Washington's army, and tales of the patriotic contributions of Martha Washington and Abigail Adams. Mountain and hammered dulcimers, penny whistle and guitar accompany the tunes.

THE COLONIAL BUSKERS

Step back in time with music from the colonial era. Enjoy popular songs, dances, military tunes, tavern music and Baroque gems from the late 18th century. Some of the music comes straight from original 18th century books which will be on display. The instruments are a combination of reproduction and antique: violin, harpsichord, cello, flute, and voice, and others, depending on musician availability. We have played at historical sites, colonial events, historical societies, churches, libraries and DAR luncheons.

THE LIBERTY THREE

The Liberty Three brings Revolutionary-era tavern music to life through fiddle, voice, and period instruments. Musicians Carla Lynne Hall, Jim Keyes, and fiddler Sara Worden O'Brien perform traditional Anglo-American ballads, dance tunes, and popular songs of the 18th century, reflecting the music commonly heard in colonial taverns and gathering places. Using historically inspired instruments and performance styles, the trio recreates the social soundscape of the Revolutionary period. They can optionally include brief country dance demonstrations or participatory dancing accompanied by live music, offering audiences an engaging and authentic glimpse into everyday colonial life. Featuring voice and period instruments, musicians Carla Lynne Hall and Jim Keyes perform traditional Anglo-American ballads, dance tunes, and popular songs of the 18th century, reflecting the music commonly heard in colonial taverns and gathering places. This format is especially well suited for smaller rooms or programs with volume and space considerations, while maintaining the authentic soundscape and engaging energy of Revolutionary-era social music. Henry Burby brings high-energy rhythmic sounds heavily influenced by Scottish and Irish folk traditions, and stories of Colonial-era tavern life, to 18th-century reenactments and gatherings. This program features tunes such as Off She Goes and Black Joak.
