MEET GENERAL GEORGE WASHINGTON
Historical performer Michael J. Grillo as “The General” engages participants and shares stories of his many visits to New York City and Westchester County during the Revolution, The importance of New York, especially the Culper Spy Ring, helped win the war. With 30 years of experience, he will respond to questions from the audience and tailor his program to those questions. Photos with The General are welcome and encouraged.

A CONVERSATION WITH THE WASHINGTONS
Hear about the lives of the United States First Couple! General and Lady Washington will relate
to you their distinctive personal story including their confidential struggles during the War for
Independence and family life both at home at Mount Vernon and the winter encampments
during the War for Independence.

GENERAL WASHINGTON ON HORSEBACK
Living history interpreter, John Koopman III, and his gentle horse Bear, portray the General and his trusted warhorse Nelson. General and Nelson are available for appearances, reenactments and parades. When not riding Nelson, the General appears in uniform and shares his first-person experiences, including the critical New York Campaign of 1776. Photos welcome! Bear is good with children and has attended many reenact-ments and parades.

VISITING WITH BEN FRANKLIN
With wit and humor, Jack Sherry portrays Dr. Benjamin Franklin in costume, and shares Franklin’s extraordinary life and accomplishments as a printer, publisher, postmaster, politician, diplomat, inventor, scientist, and of course, one of our Founding Fathers. Franklin visited New York and Westchester County periodically and stayed at least one night in 1776 with the wealthy Patriot Van Cortlandt family. The Van Cortlandt Manor House still stands on the Croton River, near the Hudson, and is administered by Historic Hudson Valley. Enjoy photos with Ben and he may even bring his kite!
