Marina Vasilyeva, Associate Professor, Applied Developmental Psychology at Boston College will present this webinar which will share valuable information on Math mastery and student skills.
Marina Vasilyeva received her PhD in cognitive and developmental psychology at the University of Chicago. Her expertise is in the study of language acquisition and mathematical learning. She has extensive experience conducting cross-cultural research on different instructional approaches to math learning. She has designed assessment tools and developed instructional interventions used by researchers and educators in several countries.

Mr. Dmitrii is the head Math Team Coach and will be sharing an impressive overview of the RSM NY Math team, sharing statistical information on Math competitions. Mr. Dmitrii has studied Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Moscow State University and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Russia. He has participated in Math Olympiads at a national level in Europe.

Math is fun and it is everywhere! We use math when we are shopping, cooking, scheduling, and traveling. We see math in nature, in the patterns of pine cones, trees, flowers, and seashells! Did you know that bees can solve math problems?! We simply cannot imagine our lives without math. So, let’s celebrate our love for math by solving fun problems and riddles!

2025 RSM IMC
3rd – 10th GRADE
February 3rd - February 16th 2025

This contest is a 30-min online math challenge based on curricula gathered from around the world. Registration for the online challenge is open for participation for a period of 2 weeks. Contestants can access the online challenge anytime during this period, (computer and an internet connection are required). Participation is open to all students in grades 3 - 9 and it is FREE. Parents can choose to register for free or register with a performance report (click on this link to view the sample report) for a cost of $20. Within 48 hours of the test they will receive a FREE report providing an overview of their score and an evaluation of the score. A detailed report will be emailed two weeks after the contest to those parents who paid.

American Mathematics Competitions are multiple choice examinations in mathematics containing problems which can be understood and solved with algebra and geometry concepts. This math competition is the most authoritative competition examination designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.

For participation in any contests at RSM NY, a Code-of-Conduct form signed by both Parent and Student is required. Please download, sign, scan into a PDF file, and upload it on your registration form.
For participation in the MOEMS contest, an additional form is required. The additional form should be signed by a school administrator in the Student's day school. After it is signed, it can also be submitted on the same registration form.
