American Mathematics Competitions are multiple choice examinations in mathematics containing problems which can be understood and solved with algebra and geometry concepts. This math competition is the most authoritative competition examination designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.
The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute competition designed for students in grade 8 and below.
The AMC 10 is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice competition designed for students in grades 10 and below.
The AMC 10 offers two versions of the test, the 'A' and 'B' competitions. Students can choose the date that best fits their schedule or participate in both for additional practice.

The Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC) is a semiannual problem-solving contest for elementary and middle school students.
The competition believes that problem-solving helps students to become better mathematicians, better thinkers, therefore better equipped for advanced STEM learning. The goal of the contest is to develop students' problem-solving skills, to encourage their interest in math, and to inspire them to excel in math.

MOEMS is one of the most influential and fun-filled math competition programs in the United States and throughout the world, with over 120,000 students from every state and 39 countries participating. The competition provides opportunities for children to engage in creative problem solving activities while developing a child’s ability to reason, to be logical, to be resourceful, and occasionally to be ingenious.
Attendance at all 5 meet dates is required. Each meeting is about 30-40 min in duration.

We are excited to offer participation in the CML contest. All CML experiences are designed to both maximize student opportunities to participate and to improve their problem solving capabilities. Students will be participating with other students on the same grade level from schools all over the United States.
About the competition:
This is a team competition with a total of five (5) in person meetings.
Participation in all the meets is encouraged, but not required.
Students can choose as many of the dates offered below that they can participate in.
Participants will have 30 minutes to complete 6 problems at each meet.

Math Majors of America Tournament for High Schools (MMATHS) is an annual high school math competition hosted in the fall at Yale and many other sites across the USA.
Contest Rounds
The contest consists of four rounds: Individual, Team, Tiebreaker, and Guts.
Individual Round: Individuals will have 75 minutes to solve 12 problems!
Team Round: Teams of up to 6 will have 45 minutes to solve 12 problems!
Tiebreaker Round: Individuals tied for 12th or above in the Individual Round will solve 2-3 problems in 10 minutes to determine the top competitors!
Guts Round: The Guts round is a 27-question, 60-minute test. Problems are given in sets of 3, and each set is provided only after the previous set has been submitted.

Math Majors of America Tournament for High Schools

Any high school student (or advanced middle school student) may participate. A full team consists of 6 students.
There is a $15 fee per student for registration. The fee is $20 if paid for on-site.

PUMaC has two distinct competitions: the Power Competition, in which teams only take the Power Round, and the Main Competition at Princeton University, of which the Power Round is a single portion. (The Power Round is a proof-based test released around a week before the competition and turned in on the required due date.) Teams will participate in both parts of the competition.
The Power Round
The Power Round is a way for PUMaC to expose a team to what proof-based mathematics is about – questions that may take more than an hour or two and require creative thinking to solve.
Individual Tests
Each participant of PUMaC will take two Individual Tests from a choice of four: Algebra, Combinatorics, Geometry, and Number Theory. The Individual Tests will have eight problems in the subject areas chosen by the participants. Each Individual Test is 60 minutes.
Team Test
The Team Test is an on-site test in which collaboration is allowed (and encouraged). Each team will be given a set of instructions and problems, and they must do their best to finish the exam within the time limit given. This round is not proof-based.

INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM CONTEST
Teams of eight high school students compete in individual, team, and proof-based math assessments. Afterwards, lunch is served, and students have the option of participating in various scheduled Mini-Events. High-scoring individuals will be invited to take the Individual Finals exam once the scoring of the individual rounds is complete. The day will conclude with an awards ceremony acknowledging and congratulating the best teams and individuals in the competition.
Developed by experienced math professionals from the Russian School of Mathematics (RSM), the IMC emphasizes problem-solving and logical reasoning. The competition features thought-provoking problems based on leading math curricula from around the world, allowing contestants to benchmark their knowledge against international standards.

The International Math Contest (IMC) is a celebration of the beauty of mathematics and the joy of learning it. Designed to be both fun and challenging, the IMC offers students a unique opportunity to showcase their math skills in a dynamic and engaging competition setting.
Open to students in grades 1–8, the International Math Contest (IMC) will be held in person at RSM branches on February 2nd, 2027. For students in grades 3–8 who do not live near an RSM location, an online version of the competition will be available on February 7th, 2026.
The contest is 75 minutes long and features exciting prizes, making the IMC not only a fun and enriching experience, but a rewarding one as well!
Girls in Math is an annual high school math competition hosted in the spring at Yale. The program is open to all students who wish to participate. Girls in Math is only held at the Yale University Campus in New Haven, CT.

Girls’ Adventures in Math is a team-based online math challenge created for girls! Competition questions come in comic form based on the lives of four of history’s greatest women. Girls work together in their teams to solve the problems. There are two levels of competition, each with two rounds of mind-bending problems to solve:
TEAM CONTEST
Elementary (grades 3-5) - Round 1 will be 12 questions in 45 minutes
Middle School (grades 6-8) - Round 1 will be 16 questions in an hour
Round 1 is a set of questions based on the lives of the GAIM 2026 women. The length of this section depends on the team’s competition level.
Round 2 will have a multi-part question centered around one fun math concept. This part will take 30 minutes.

The Purple Comet! Math Meet is a free, annual, international, online, team, mathematics competition designed for middle and high school students that has been held every year since 2003. Teams of from one to six students compete by submitting solutions to a list of mathematics problems. There is a ten-day window during which teams may compete choosing a start time most convenient for them. The problems range in difficulty from fairly easy to extremely challenging. In 2025 over 12,000 students participated on over 4000 teams from 80 countries.
