Question: How can I focus better?
Answer: For me when I'm stressed I like to take a 10 minute break from whatever I'm doing; it gives your mind a rest for you to be able to collect yourself. I also like to listen to music to almost distract myself and it calms me down. For other people, they prefer to get rid of any possible distractions. Sitting in a quiet space with no one else their might be best. It's all about what works for you!
Question: What do I do if I want to drop out of school?
Answer: Try to remember it’s only a small part of your life overall and you will have many more opportunities if you have a high school diploma even if you do not go to college. Finding things to look forward to also helps, like dances, sports, or graduation. Getting involved in a club or after school activity can also help students feel included. I recommend doing something - whatever it is that might interest you, as long as you do something, it'll help you get through!
Question: What should I do when I feel overwhelmed?
Answer: Take a break, don't talk to anyone, have a snack, or go to sleep. Feeling overwhelmed is something all of us experience at one time or another, sometimes all too often. If you feel overwhelmed, see if you can break down the task at hand into manageable chunks. Seeing the smaller tasks to do, and remembering that we can only take one step at a time, can help us when we feel overwhelmed.
