12/5: Read pages 901-908 with a partner. While reading 901-905, create a timeline of key events in ancient Chinese history. While reading 906-908, take notes on culture using the 2-column note-taking method. When done, answer questions 1-4 (all) on 908. This is homework if not completed in class.
12/6: We will start class by going down to see the living wax museum presentations. We will follow that by finishing and then going over the questions from yesterday's reading.

11/25: After watching the Newscenter video on Maine's lobster energy, you are going to be put in a group and tasked with solving the problem of Maine's ailing lobster industry. What is one traditional economy-based solution? What is one market economy-based solution? What is one command economy-based solution? Be prepared to share out with the class.

For this unit, you will be choosing a region of Africa to learn about. You will map the area, learn about it by reading the chapter in the text, taking notes, and answering questions, and study data about your countries. Then, you will create a presentation to the class about what you learned from the data.

Textbook sections. You will need to be logged into your school email. Just know this version is slightly different than the one we have in class.
Goal: Learn how to evaluate an important geographic issue using data.
10/28: Choose a region of Africa. Watch the video below and fill in the notetaker. Complete a map of your region (outline the region), including all countries, oceans, and 5 physical features from within the region.

10/30: Complete a web for Section 1 for your chapter. When done, on the back answer the section review questions "Reviewing Ideas, Terms, and People".
10/31: Complete a web for Section 2 for your chapter. When done, on the back answer the section review questions "Reviewing Ideas, Terms, and People".
11/1: Complete a web for Section 3 for your chapter. When done, on the back answer the section review questions "Reviewing Ideas, Terms, and People".
11/4: Working either alone or with your group, complete the questions at the end of your chapter entitled, "Chapter Review". You should complete all of the questions (there are multiple pages of questions). DO NOT complete the questions on "Using the Internet" or "Social Studies Skills." Stop when you get to the section on Standardized Test Prep.
11/5: Finish Chapter Review questions. Begin filling in Data Collection Spreadsheet for your region as part of the Final Project.
