Deleting Emails

Have a lot of emails and want to delete more than one at a time?

To delete a whole range of emails (emails that are next to each other)

  • Hold the Shift key
  • Click an email near the top of the list
  • Scroll or use arrow keys to click an email further down the list to highlight
  • Once the range/group of emails are highlighted, click Delete

To delete multiple emails that are not next to each other

  • Hold the Command key
  • Click to select/highlight particular emails
  • Once emails are selected/highlighted, click Delete

If you’ve set up folders, click Control-click on the folder and delete all in that folder

** HINT: Change view options or use Search to sort and view mail differently in order to delete a range of emails

Emails aren’t really deleted until you empty your trash. (Select all and delete in order to delete immediately and create storage space; deleted emails will automatically delete in 30 days.)
