MHS Library Policies and Procedures

The Morse High School Library strives to be a welcoming, supportive, and educational environment for students, staff, and visitors. The library provides information in a variety of formats, print and online, that support curriculum and individual interests of students and faculty. The library is available for class instruction and for personal interests. Suggestions for new books, magazines, materials, and programming are encouraged. Please share your ideas and suggestions.


ACCESS

  • The library is open before and after school and during a student's lunch period for reading and research.
  • During the school day, students may visit the library with a class or on their own. Students visiting the library on their own need to have a pass signed by a school staff member.

BORROWING LIBRARY MATERIALS

  • Books are checked out for 3 weeks.
  • Checkout limit is 3 books.
  • Books may be renewed 1 time.
  • Reference books and periodicals may be borrowed overnight.
  • Reserve books circulate according to the guidelines set by the librarians after consultation with faculty members who put them on reserve.
  • You may place a title that is checked out on hold.
  • Students may not check out any materials if they have overdue items or fees due.
  • Overdue reminders will be sent to a student's advisory.
  • There are NO fines for overdue materials. Please return materials in a timely fashion so that everyone can enjoy them.
  • Students will be responsible for the replacement cost of any lost or damaged library materials.
