Crisis Support
You are not alone.
You are not alone.
Is your child in crisis? You may want to consider accessing supports through Boundary Trails. Boundary Trails has a Mental Health Liason Nurse on staff who can assess students who are having thoughts of suicide or self-harm. You can call the Mental Health Liaison Nurse (204-331-8800) ahead of time to discuss options and decide whether you should attend Boundary Trails. You can also access the Mental Health Liaison Nurse by attending the emergency room at Boundary Trails, but it is sometimes helpful to call first. They could then assess student to decide if they need to go to CATC or somewhere else for additional assessment, treatment, and stabilization.
Crisis lines are available to everyone and you can call anytime. They can be called for many reasons - feeling sad, anxious, upset or any other difficult emotion, feeling lonely and not having anyone else to turn to, having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, struggling with conflict in relationships, looking for help or resources, or just looking for a caring person to talk to.
It can be difficult to know which line to call, but any of them will be able to provide support or can direct you to a phone line that may be a better fit. If you still feel uncertain, the Klinic Crisis Line is a great place to start.
