Course Rationale

This advanced course is designed for students who would like to function at an increased level in the target language, and who would perhaps like to study or work in a Spanish speaking country at some point in the future.

Course Aims and Outcomes

Spanish 3 Spanish seeks to give students the tools to speak and comprehend the language with increased proficiency, and allow them to function in immersive settings, which they may encounter during prolonged stays in the Spanish-speaking world.

By the end of this course, students will:

be able to function effectively and easily navigate a Spanish speaking country

be able to carry on a standard, intermediate conversation with students and native speakers of Spanish.

be able to read and comprehend intermediate Spanish texts and signs.

be familiar with Spanish cultural norms and taboos.

be functional on the ACTFL level intermediate-mid (see ACTFL standards on RRPS World Language website).
