ESL Summer Virtual Program
All ESL parents have been surveyed to identify barriers to virtual learning, student’s preferred digital resources used throughout the distance learning period, and other input to consider when designing instructional plans for the summer program.
Program structure is consistent with years past and will run from June 24th through July 30th, meeting three days per week, for a total of 17 days.
Program will be based on Google Classroom, incorporating the most heavily used, familiar resources to students in ELA and Math, along with supplementary resources to support the program theme of Life Science.
Instructional priorities will be determined using a range of assessment data from the previous calendar year, including 2019 NJSLA and WIDA data, to determine instructional priorities for all participants.
Attendance will be taken via Google Classroom each morning at 9:30 am
Extended School Year Virtual Summer Program 2020

Instruction will be delivered remotely including Google Classrooms, Google and Zoom meetings including Reading, Writing and Math lessons with emphasis on Life Science.
Social Skills, Daily Living Skills and Community Based Instruction experiences will be provided virtually.
Related Services will be delivered through individual Google classrooms and individual teletherapy or small group sessions.
Data will be recorded based on virtual information, parent feedback or evidence of work completion via Rethink, Speech Language Toolkit, Individual Data sheets for hand recording and anecdotal notes will be used to demonstrate progress towards goals and objectives.
The RPHS Class of 202 will be participating in a virtual graduation ceremony. Students will be invited to walk across the stage individually over the course of two weeks to create the ceremony virtually.
The high school offers a summer credit recovery program every summer. This year this will be offered digitally. NO seniors are in danger of not graduating that were not in danger of not graduating before we left for virtual instruction.
