Self contained Teachers-Provide individualized instruction, small and whole group instruction and support via Google classrooms, Google Meet of Zoom sessions. Group sessions include Social Skills and virtual field trips/Community Based Instruction. Google classrooms are prepared for the whole class and for individual students based on IEP goals and objectives. Individual sessions are scheduled throughout the week including intensive teaching sessions. The Rethink platform is utilized as a data collection tool in some elementary and middle school self contained classrooms. Teachers and/or paraprofessionals will collect data. Packets are mailed to parents of students struggling with difficulties with student or internet issues. Communication with parents is ongoing.
IRC and Resource Room Teachers-co-plan, determine IEP accommodations and modifications for assignments and coordinate schedules with classroom teachers. Special education teachers support and facilitate instruction during virtual sessions. Provide break out sessions during Google Meet or Zoom.
Some online resources for Self Contained, ICR and RR teachers include but not limited to: IXL, Brainpop, Google classroom, Freckle, Raz Kids, Class DoJo, Envision Math.
Speech Language Therapists, Occupational and Physical Therapist-Individual and small group lessons/ activities are prepared via Google Classrooms. Related Service Providers communicate with parents via phone or email to schedule individual and small group teletherapy sessions based on IEP requirements to the greatest extent possible. News-2-You and online videos and resources are utilized. Boom Cards are used in Speech sessions for data collection purposes as well as via Speech Language Toolkit, Rethink and hand data collection. Communication/Service Logs are kept to document teletherapy sessions or attempts at sessions.
BCBA-Maintains email or phone communication with parents and teachers. Provides consultation/education and resources for parents struggling with student behaviors at home. Provides consultation and professional development to teachers and related service providers on student programming and methods of data collection. Provides program development professional development to staff in self contained classrooms.
Paraprofessionals-Support teachers as they prepare work for Google Classrooms, Google Meets or Zoom meetings as well as research/prepare materials. Paraprofessionals are added to Google Classroom or invited to Google Meets. ABA paraprofessional can provide some support to ABA teachers as they assist with data collection and in sessions with teachers/students.

Self Contained Teachers and Related Service Providers track services on Communication/Service Log. Student participation, data collected based on Google classroom assignments and physical evidence is utilized as sources of tracking student progress. Anecdotal data may be recorded during virtual sessions. The Rethink platform is utilized in some self contained classes to document progress on goals and objectives as well as parent data sheets provided by district BCBA. Speech Language Toolkit is also utilized during sessions.
Parent/teacher correspondence regarding completing of work from Google Classrooms
o Describe how case managers follow up with families to ensure services are implemented in accordance with IEPs to the greatest extent possible.
CST documents all communication with families including phone and email check ins, and Google Meet or Zoom consultations for in and out of district students in a Communication/Service Log. Case managers document attempts to schedule or hold IEP meetings. Attendance is recorded virtually for participants when an IEP meeting is held.
Provides resources to parents including social emotional, behavioral and mental health resources as well as parent community outreach resources.
Case managers and/or teachers communicate via Google Meets, email or phone conferences to discuss student progress.
o Describe how the district conducts virtual IEP meetings, evaluation, and other meetings to identify, evaluate, and/or reevaluate students with disabilities
Referrals are made to CST via phone or email. A course of action is determined with CST.
IEP Meetings-including Initial Planning, Re-evaluation Planning, Review/Revise and Annual Review meetings are conducted via telephone conference calls, Google Meet, or Zoom. CST communicates with parents via email or telephone to schedule meetings and gain consent.
Evaluations-Social History evaluations are conducted via phone, Google or Zoom. Psychological or Educational evaluations are not being conducted during the school closure.
Based on conducted testing evidence, observation tools, rating scales, social history results, diagnosis, if a determination for eligibility can be determined, CST will determine a course of action. If not enough evidence is available, CST will determine the course of action and further testing will be conducted when in person testing is allowable.
