Geometry is a two-semester course intended to introduce students to the study of Geometric Concepts that include the basic elements of geometry, proofs, parallel and perpendicular lines, transformations, congruence and similarity, right triangles and trigonometry, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, surface area and volume, and probability. There will be a strong focus on the eight mathematical practices outlined in the common core curriculum to improve mathematical competency and problem-solving skills. This high school level course meets the mathematics requirement for graduation.
