What are the new RUSD Reclassification criteria? The new reclassification criteria replaces the CELDT criteria with the ELPAC test. The CELDT was based on 5 levels of proficiency, while the ELPAC Summative is based on 4 levels of proficiency. Since this is a baseline year, we want make sure the criteria RUSD selects results in a consistent RFEP rate compared to prior years. Our goal is to ensure all English learners have the best opportunity to both reclassify and succeed academically. To meet this goal, we conducted an analysis on the "RUSD Interim Reclassification Criteria 2018-2019" and are moving forward with the revised criteria.:
Student Assessment is currently compiling student lists of eligible students for reclassification based on the "RUSD Interim Reclassification Criteria 2018-2019" and will send them to the sites during the week of August 27, 2018. The deadline for reclassification this fall is September 28, 2018. Please contact the Special Projects Office (Silvia Rivas or Kim Louie) with any questions regarding reclassification.
