Injury Protocol
Coaches understand getting hurt or being sore is normal for a high intensity athlete. The safety and well being of our athletes is the top priority. Athletic workouts will be challenging in order to build skill level and performance among athletes.
If an athlete is not feeling up to their normal standard, coaches will ask them to just do their best. Coaches only want an athlete to sit out if it is a serious injury or high risk situation.
If an athlete is injured they must still dress out every day and will have an additional paper or digital assignment for the day. Medical Documentation Protocol
If you are hurt, gauge your pain. If you are really hurt make sure you have let your coach know
Injury Notes
Parent notes: last 2 days then must have a doctor or trainer note. If it is an upper body issue, they will do a lower body / ab workout. If it is a lower body issue, they will still do an upper body / ab workout. Injury Documentation Protocol If a doctor cannot be seen immediately, the trainer can assess or a parent note with doctor plans can be accepted for extreme situations.
Doctors' notes: will be respected and followed. Once the date expires, another note must be obtained. Only a doctor can release the athlete after the initial note.
Trainer
Trainers are a FREE resource and will be on campus at designated times and potentially during athletic periods for athletes to be seen.
The trainers will provide rehab, pain management, and advise on how to quickly and safely return to athletics.
Cedar Ridge Trainers are a secondary source for injuries and information can be found here: Cedar Ridge Athletic Trainer
