Hello,
I spent most of my life insisting that I was from New York, as I was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, and am still a Yankees fan. But, having moved to Austin, TX in 3rd grade, I find my roots in Texas growing deeper and deeper and find a lot of pride in now seeing myself as a Texan. I have attended RRISD schools since my move to the area, at Brushy Creek, Cedar Valley, and McNeil. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Elementary Education. I also have certifications in English as a Second Language, Advanced Literacy, and Gifted and Talented Education.
After graduation, I made my way back to RRISD as quickly as possible and have taught all 10 of my years in education in our district. I began my teaching career here at Laurel Mountain Elementary, then moved to Elsa England to be a little closer to home as my family grew, but my heart brought me back to LME two years ago. During those 10 years I taught grades 1-5, as well as 6th grade math as a long term substitute while I took a break from teaching.
When I say my heart brought me back to LME, I really meant it, as my husband, and two youngest children are all back here with me! My husband, Josh, is teaching 5th grade this year, and Bryce (10) and Maddie (7) will be in fifth grade and second grade. Bryce enjoys Scouts and Jiu Jitsu and Maddie loves all things cheer, just like one of her big sisters. Speaking of big sister, I also have two stepdaughters as well! Mia also teaches in Round Rock ISD, and Skylar attends the University of Tennessee. And I can't forget the stars of my home, my 2 dogs, Kaia and Luna. They are both Bernedoodles, Kaia is a mini and Luna is a standard size. When I am not at school or the cheer gym with Maddie, I enjoy traveling, crafting, cheering on my children at their activities, and socializing with friends and family.
I can't wait to collaborate with you and your child! Feel free to contact me anytime at:
